Our Chairman Fintan O’Toole is an HR professional and has been monitoring the debate on how people will return to normal working later in the year.  Will it be business as usual or will we all now become a nation of homeworkers? Fintan believes that the answer lies somewhere in between and has seen expressions such as “blended” or “hybrid” working enter the business lexicon in recent weeks.

Home working itself may not be appropriate for all and employers may seek to make arrangements for hot desking in office space local to their employees’ homes.  StartUp Croydon is already seeing increasing interest in co-working space and has converted one of its meeting rooms at Weatherill House to meet the demand.

If home working is going to be part of the solution, then employers are going to have to introduce new ways of engaging with staff.  The HR Dept blog looks at some of the options.
