Drive-in Vintage Camper Van Weddings
Croydon based company, Buttercup Bus Vintage Campers, was set up by Nathalie Selvon Bruce about 11 years ago when expecting her first child. As well as discovering that family life was tricky to juggle, she also needed a larger, family friendly vehicle – a cream, 1970s, pimped up VW Camper that, as it turned out, also proved to be a popular wedding car. From there the business diversified into holiday hire, campervan photobooths and eventually national, branded vehicle promotional tours. Buttercup Bus was growing and had become a successful business – until Covid hit.
The wedding industry sector bore the full brunt of lockdown restrictions but most companies weren’t forced to shut down so therefore slipped through the net for government support. With very little financial help on the horizon for Nathalie, she was forced to think creatively and came up with the idea of the drive-in vintage camper van wedding, in collaboration with Lily Jones events and a couple of beautiful Surrey-based wedding venues. Based on the drive-in movie concept, this new wedding idea ensures that guests are comfortably accommodated using a fleet of vans and can still enjoy the ceremony as well as a socially distanced reception.
