StartUp Croydon Impacts Local Communities

Last year marked the fifth anniversary of StartUp Croydon becoming a charity with the aim of assisting people in the development and setting up of their own business and we pride ourselves in having made an impact to the lives of local entrepreneurs and the local economy.
Since January 2012, Croydon Business Venture has delivered 55 training courses and helped over 300 new and existing startups and businesses through 1-1 advice sessions.
In particular, in the last year 2016-2017 we’ve:
– delivered 11 new business training courses to 152 people 39 of which were unemployed
– provided entrepreneurs with over 190 hours of free business advice
– hosted free networking and enterprise development events for Young Enterprise, University of the Third Age, Croydon Enterprise Plus and First Friday
– supported social enterprise Humanutopia in the delivery of their Be The Change pilot programme for disengaged secondary age children
A particular highlight of which we are very proud of was StartUp Croydon being recognised for our work and achievements by being awarded the National Enterprise Network’s Enterprise Support Organisation of the Year award.
We would like to thank those who have helped, supported and worked with us to help us support the entrepreneurs of the future including Croydon Council, Croydon Chamber of Commerce, NatWest, Barclays, National Enterprise Network, Coast to Capital and all our other partners and supporters.
We look forward to supporting even more people to realise their dream of running their own business or social enterprise. For further information on our full impact report, you can download it here StartUpCroydon-ImpactReportWEB
