Nicole Treks 100k for Coppafeel

Having had such a great month for inspirational women, we would like to celebate a local fundraiser, Nicole Hall, whose inspirational story is motivating her to take on a 100km trek. She was selected to join a team of women, #TeamBoobs, together with Giovanna Fletcher and her celebrity team captains, to raise hundreds of thousands of pounds towards a life-saving mission – CoppaFeel.
Every woman has heard of CoppaFeel right? If not, then you really need to know more.
CoppaFeel! was founded in 2009 by Kristin Hallenga and her twin sister Maren after Kris was diagnosed with secondary breast cancer at the age of 23. It’s all about being breast-cancer aware, getting familiar with, and knowing your shape. CoppaFeel promotes self-checkout throughout the country and with a step-by-step guide on their website. It’s all about educating women, so that if a lump is detected, it can be dealt with early enough to save lives. Most lumps are just scary but not malignant and prompt diagnosis is key.
Nicole herself was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2017 at age 33, and has recently had to go back onto chemotherapy, when it returned in her liver in May 2021, but this isn’t stopping her:
In her own words:
I decided to apply for this year’s Coppatrek with I’m A Celeb winner Giovanna Fletcher…. and out of over 1,000 applicants I was selected!! This means I will be trekking 100km over 5 days across the Pembrokeshire coast (Wales)
I have to raise a significant amount of money for this amazing charity (CoppaFeel) I have already raised over 4k, but would love to hit 5k now!!!
So I will be holding a fundraising event locally in Wallington which will include bingo and a raffle, as well as a local drama group called Presto! (performing arts) coming along to perform a little show. I’ll be have a cake sale, bouncy castle, face paints, and then of course the raffle. So far I have been generously donated prizes from Buyagift, Sainsburys, Kidspace, shuttles tattoo, Turtle Bay, beauty & hair places, Wallington Pizzeria, Ginger Frog, tickets for Tough Mudder & Spartan, plus kids runs, to name a few. Everyone has been so generous donating to my page and offering raffle prizes too. Blows my mind.
Nicole is concentrating on raising money for the trek, but as you can see, her enthusiasm knows no bounds and we will update our readers on her progress as her fundraising ideas come to fruition.
If you would like to know more about Nicole’s first event: Sunday Funday Fundraiser on 22nd May at Wallington Sports Club, or if anyone is able to donate a raffle prize, a bouncy castle, goal for crossbar challenge, or can volunteer their time for face painting and other fun stuff for kids, please get in contact with Nicole at nicolemorby@hotmail.com.
