It was 2010 – six years ago exactly; Lovelocaljobs.com were in the depths of recession, jobs were scarce and the skies were turning gloomy grey. Their CEO Gary Peters, was looking for a new challenge; something which would leverage his recruitment experience, and more importantly raise the career aspirations and create job opportunities for our future generations, just like the opportunities that had been given to him over 20 years ago. Lovelocaljobs.com was born, and by the sound of things, it’s been one hell of a ride.

If you look back at the last six years and how much LoveLocalJobs.com have achieved is quite remarkable. They have been recognised in European, national and regional awards and have just recently been awarded highly commended in the National Recruiter Awards for the best jobs/careers board). LoveLocalJobs.com have provided much needed careers advice to thousands of local people and expanded into new areas Croydon. A huge success this year has been the growth of Be the Change which has been getting fantastic feedback and accolades from all involved.

Be the Change is a ground breaking and inspirational programme which is usually aimed at Year 9 students who for one reason or another, have become disengaged with school or lack confidence in their own abilities. Delivered in partnership with social enterprise humautopia, the programme focusses on happiness, confidence, hope, relationships and employability and encourages students to identify their personal barriers to success, helping them to find ways of overcoming them so they can be successful.
