Our new University Campus in Croydon is focused on empowering our local business community and unlocking our potential to deliver on the national and global stage.
We’re working with local partners to deliver research and projects, bringing additional funding and innovation to the area. Our Help to Grow programme and Business Solutions Centre are driving growth on the ground and helping connect local businesses to new opportunities.
Together with established partners like StartUp Croydon, we’re excited to show the world what Croydon can do.
Recognised around the world, Global Entrepreneurship Week 2022 is from November 14th – 20th, and we want to make the most of this fantastic initiative by bringing together as many local business people as possible for a networking event that equally celebrates every type of business, and all the people involved.

StartUp Croydon is very well known for running successful events, and In 2021 we successfully managed to bring together around 70 people for Global Entrepreneurship Week 2021.
Equally successful earlier this year was our celebration of International Women’s Day on March 8th, a day that was packed with incredible women speakers and local business people meeting each other, exchanging stories and building their networks to help to grow our local economy.
Our Global Entrepreneurship Week networking event on November 18th will build on that success, and as a nod to International Men’s Day the following day, we are delighted to announce that we have some very special speakers – four men who will take part in a panel interview and will share their own incredible journeys to overcome their own personal challenges and go on to do well in business.
This is an event not to be missed, whatever stage your business is at.

Brian Duffus of the Duffus Community Foundation
Brian will share his story of building the brand his late brother Leroy established and the positive legacy he has left.
Jerry Meldrum of Sales Geek
After stints in care as a child and a tough experience exposed to alcoholism, Jerry has gone on to run his own business, helping the local economy to grow. Jerry will talk about the growth mindset he has developed, which has lead to his success.
Matt Wood of The Woodmor Foundation
Matt will share his personal journey with mental health and how focusing on helping others through his mission to overcome barriers to employment has driven his recovery and impacted others in such a positive way.
Ibrahim Animashawun
As a young man at the start of his career, Ibrahim will share the challenges he has had to overcome to thrive as a neurodiverse person educated in a neurotypical system.
