Getting Creative – Building Business Horizons Continues Through the Crisis

In challenging times like these, we all need to adapt and be creative to ensure we carry on supporting customers as much as possible and we at StartUp Croydon are no different.  Behind the scenes, our masterminds, Geoff and Anna, have been working on a strategy to ensure our Building Business Horizons (BBH) participants are supported during this period.

  • The plan is for us to continue to deliver BBH remotely mainly via Skype and GoToTraining with regular 1-1 sessions where necessary and recordings of masterclasses and workshops ensuring a flexible and blended approach of support is achieved.  This remote support is designed to provide continuity for our cohort and maintain momentum and commitment to the development of their business plans with a view to adhering more or less to the original schedule until the end of May.
  • It is intended that the pitching days will still take place with some funding awards being made, although we are currently trying to understand how to logistically manage this given the current crisis.
  • We are confident that we can still pull together some form of virtual Open Day potentially in the form of a webinar with speakers invited to either appear live or, if not available on the intended date (TBC), to record a session to be sent to our BBH participants.
  • In addition to moving support online, other resources that we are working on include a companion written Business Plan guide, a glossary of business terms and business start-up checklist.

Using this new strategy, we aim to ensure that our 1st cohort of 2020 will receive the same expert training and level of support that we have been able to deliver previously.  For more information about BBH go to https://startupcroydon.co.uk/building-business-horizons/

We are always looking for volunteers to help support our early stage entrepreneurs.  If you are interested in providing the benefit of your expertise and may have a few hours to spare to help support our new entrepreneurs, contact us at: gr@startupcroydon.co.uk / ab@startupcroydon.co.uk.
