Get on Board with Plastic Free July

Plastic Free July is a global movement that helps millions of people be part of the solution to plastic pollution – so we can have cleaner streets, oceans, and beautiful communities.

Businesses get involved in Plastic Free July to help staff and customers choose alternatives to single-use plastics and to support a wider movement to reduce plastic waste across the community.

You can take the plastic free challenge as a business for a day, a week, a month or even as the start of a permanent change. Success depends upon clear communication with staff and customers about what you’re doing, so they know to bring their own bag, mug, container, etc.

StartUp Croydon encourages its Clients and Visitors to be more aware of recycling by encouraging water and drinks refills using their own cups or sports bottles, although paper are available if absolutely necessary and we have a recycling policy in place that we request all staff and licensees to participate in.

As an accredited member of the Good Employer (Croydon) charter, we have an obligation to our staff and the wider community to actively practice environmental sustainability, as well as paying the London Living Wage, endeavouring to employ our staff from within the Croydon area with a clear non-discriminatory policy and to support Croydon’s small businesses by utilising local supply chain opportunities.
