Empowering Women in Business: International Women’s Day

Our small efforts to raise aspirations and celebrate women will influence and encourage future female leaders, so on March 8th we hosted another wonderful celebration of Women in Business by bringing together local professionals to inspire and raise up women in our region.

In honour of International Women’s Day, the local business community came together for an impactful celebration aimed at uplifting and empowering women. Hosted by LSBU Business School, the event showcased the collective efforts to inspire future female leaders and address important issues faced by women in various industries.

Collaborating with Carrie Rutherford Principal LSBU Business School and Alison Johnson founder of IMB. The event delivered a day filled with insightful discussions and empowering presentations. Carol Squires, a council representative, shared valuable insights on the gender pay gap, offering both inspiration and practical advice to the attendees.

The event featured presentations from notable speakers, including Sancha Currie; whose career journey within the music industry served as a source of sincere inspiration.

Selina Flavius also delivered an incredible presentation on finance, highlighting the resilience and determination required to overcome significant challenges.

Throughout the day, the presentations resonated deeply with attendees, shedding light on the pressures women encounter in the business world while showcasing their remarkable ability to persevere and thrive.

The event served as a testament to the collective commitment to fostering a supportive environment for women in business and inspiring them to reach their full potential.
