The Croydon Business Excellence Awards, the largest and most prestigious of their kind in the fast-growing south London borough, have been reinvented for this year as the Croydon Business Resilience Awards 2021. Businesses across the borough are invited to apply to the free and easy to enter awards categories through this website.

The Croydon Business Resilience Awards 2021 will reflect the challenges and opportunities that businesses have faced during the pandemic and acknowledge how they have adapted and innovated to ensure they survive through lockdown.

This year there is also an option to nominate a business that you feel has risen above and beyond the Covid19.

• Business Pivot Award

  • During these challenging times, some businesses have gone to remarkable efforts to diversify or adapt their products and services for the greater good.Their innovation and selflessness may have helped their communities, or volunteers and staff in sectors at the forefront of the fightback against COVID-19

• Sustainable Green Investment Award

  • As we emerge from lockdown, the impact of COVID-19 and climate change are the major challenges we face.
    The borough’s businesses are already embracing the opportunities presented by a sustainable recovery from the pandemic to build back better, and this Award seeks to showcase their efforts.

• Local Lockdown Hero

  • Entrepreneurs and businesspeople were inspired throughout lockdown to reach out to their communities as services shut down and people were forced into isolation.Their tireless efforts, from providing/delivering free products and services to spreading positivity in challenging times, are to be honoured with this award

• Community Collaboration in Response to Covid19

  • Many businesses have been reaching out to offer support during the COVID-19 crisis, establishing or building on a strong commitment to the local community.This award is open to those companies with a great approach to corporate social responsibility and who have made a tangible difference to society.

• Outstanding Team Award

  • Often the success of a business is down to the way its people pull together to propel the company forward and/or support the community around it.Resilience, dedication, initiative and positivity emerged in great force from employees in businesses across the borough during the pandemic, and this award seeks to acknowledge their admirable strengths and efforts

• Covid19 Business Commitment to Education, Training and Skills

  • Upskilling, reskilling, providing employment and training is now more vital than ever as the economy adapts to the pandemic.
    This category recognises employers who have created jobs and training opportunities throughout the pandemic and continue to do so, supporting the borough’s bounce-back from COVID-19.

• Covid19 Start-up

  • From the challenges of COVID-19, came opportunities and new business growth. Closure of some sectors opened avenues in others and many new and varied start-up businesses were established in the borough.This award seeks to recognise enterprise and entrepreneurial spirit, a culture which is perhaps now more important than ever, to assist the borough’s economic recovery.

• Young persons contribution

  • Young people are among the most affected, economically and socially, by COVID-19. This award seeks to acknowledge their particular circumstances but also their resilience and adaptability.It is an appreciation of those who may have contributed to a business in a significant way during the pandemic, perhaps as an employee, entrepreneur, apprentice, or part of the Kickstart or other scheme.It will also recognise those young people without a job, or on furlough, who have given their time and skills to support their community through COVID-19
