Croydon Games Cafe The Ludoquist Launches New Venture

On their travels around Croydon this week, our CEO Saffron Saunders and Programmes Manager, Geoff Ranson, popped in to see Nick Smith of The Ludoquist where he shared their exciting news that they had set up a new venture to distribute a range of beautifully crafted dice and lapel pins for Pride.  Read on for more information …..

Croydon based The Ludoquist (Treble global award winning games café) are proud to announce their new venture, Ludodist Distribution. This will focus on distributing high quality nice products in the UK Tabletop Gaming space. We are particularly excited to announce a partnership and exclusive UK distribution deal with Foam Brain Games, a US manufacturer of high quality RPG dice and pins. Foam Brain Games have been making dice for more than ten years, and now number their sales of dice in the millions. RPG dice are used to play Dungeons and Dragons and similar games.

Nick Smith, co-owner of Ludodist, says; “We first met Andrew Zorowitz of Foam Brain Games in those days of yore pre-pandemic. I was at Gama in the US (<ahem> picking up two global awards😊) and was thrilled to find that Foam Brain Games were providing exactly the sort of quality dice we were looking for. We’ve been selling them in store for 2 years, and are now delighted to be distributing them to select UK retailers”.

Amy Dickinson, Games Manager at Ludoquist, explains why Ludodist have linked up with Foam Brain:

There is one product and one product alone that initially convinced us to stock Foam Brain dice, and that’s their Pride Dice range.

Being an out and proud lesbian, perhaps I’m a little biased, but queer representation is incredibly important. Queer people notice things, we have to. We notice the copies of Harry Potter games on your shelves, we notice the rainbow flag that goes up in your shop during pride, and we notice if still up once pride ends. We are used to noticing the small signs that tell us whether we are safe in your shop, and while a small selection of pride merchandise might be unassuming to a straight customer, to queer customers it’s a klaxon call that this is a place where we can feel safe.

It constantly lifts my spirits to see young queer people coming into the Ludoquist and drooling over the pride dice. “

Andrew Zorowitz of Foam Brain Games, says:We are very excited to work with Ludoquist to bring our dice to more stores in the UK. It is wonderful to be able to work with great partners to make our products more readily available worldwide, and Ludoquist has really impressed us with how much their vision aligns with ours and how passionate they are about our products, especially our pride products.

Pride dice are now arriving across the nation. Retailers interested in selling the FBG range of Pride Dice should email dice@ludodist.com.

Congratulations Nick and all the team at The Ludoquist!
