Croydon Council COVID-19 (Coronavirus) business rates relief and grant funding

Croydon Council logo

As part of the government’s support to businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic, small businesses who pay little or no business rates direct to the council may be eligible to a £10,000 grant to help them through this period.

Government guidance is that this will be paid through local authorities and that they will be contacted automatically; however, this can only be done if your business contact details registered with Croydon Council are up to date.  Even if they are up to date, if you are working from home due to the lockdown, you may not have received any physical notification letters as these will have been sent to your business address.

Croydon Council are still in the process of paying the grants to eligible businesses, however have identified that there are over 2,000 small businesses that have not been in contact to claim the grant.

Therefore, if you think you are eligible for a grant and haven’t already done so, contact the Croydon Council Business Rates Team on croynndr@croydon.gov.uk.
