Covid19 Success Stories: Think Events

With the lifting of Covid19 restrictions in the last few weeks, the Weatherill House building is starting to buzz with activity as more of our tenants return to the enterprise centre.  In addition, we’ve seen an increase in office viewings and new tenancies and we are delighted to feature this month our new tenant, Think Events, headed by Ian Taitte who is probably one of the most likeable people you could hope to meet:

Ian Taitte | Managing Director (Think Events London)

I have over sixteen years experience in regeneration, marketing, promotion, and Events Management across both commercial and public sectors. Over this time, I’ve played a significant role in the economic and community regeneration of two of London’s thirty-two boroughs. I have also established a solid reputation for business support, community development and events management. As town centre manager for both Wandsworth and Greenwich Local Authorities, I looked after projects aimed at regenerating town centres through large and small-scale events which promoted business, regenerated communities, and raised the profile of those boroughs.

In January 2010 I set up my innovative events consultancy, ‘Think Events London.’ My aim is to deliver excellent community and corporate events across London and overseas. The company has grown steadily since then and has enjoyed significant success. It is now listed as preferred suppliers with all its clients.

Notable clients include Peabody, Greenland Investment UK, Wandsworth Council, Croydon Council, Southeast London Chamber of Commerce

Think Events London provides a wide range of consultancy services, from advice and support to full scale events management, this includes:

  • High street recovery and COVID-19 compliance
  • Community regeneration activities – special events, fun days, markets, cultural events
  • Private and public sector networking events
  • COVID marshalling
  • Full budget and project management
  • Stakeholder and customer engagement
  • Inward investment events
  • Creative design
  • Business engagement
  • Strategic communications

The company is currently working with Wandsworth Council on their European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) COVID-19 Business support across three town centres.

The start of the coronavirus pandemic shattered my business resulting in major financial losses, hardship and making some seriously difficult decisions in an attempt to stay afloat. All our calendar events had to be postponed or cancelled which was totally understandable given the global pandemic.  However, not one for sitting on my hands and feeling sorry for myself, I snapped up the Government loan and as a team we diversified the business. Now we offer Covid compliance, business advice, High Street recovery, Covid marshalling, webinars and project management.

Today, Think Events London are a team of friendly local event professionals focussed on delivering brilliant spectacular events, stunning creatives, and meticulous style in operations.

I recently took the opportunity to move into Weatherill House because it ticks so many boxes for me; it’s local, great access, secure parking, affordable, everything is included but most of all it was that warm lovely feeling I got as soon as we walked through the door. Saffron Saunders, CEO and the team made us feel so welcome – it was an easy decision to move the operation in.

Over the coming months our plan is to build an immediate and medium-term strategy which incorporates a robust safety net.  It is our intention to reach out to new partners and clients to expand our work yet further. We feel there is so much more potential in the Croydon area, and I’m working on putting together some networking events to get Croydon small businesses collaborating and taking us to the next level!
