Congratulations!: Laurence at Shaking Hands Scoops Award

This month Croydon celebrated some of the best in-borough business talent through what has now become an annual event: The Croydon Business Excellence Awards.  We were thrilled to hear that Laurence Grant from the Shaking Hands Interactive Partnership was the winner of the Inspirational Young Person of the Year Award (Sponsored by London Borough of Croydon).

Shaking Hands is a platform for well-run SMEs in the Croydon area to communicate, collaborate, and shape the future of good business in Croydon.  With a multitude of events throughout the year that keep even the most avid networker busy, they also aim to provide relevant information to their members (and beyond) act as connectors to maximise business relationships and keep the Croydon community buzzing.

Applicants in this category needed to demonstrate that they had:

• Overcome social barriers or other difficulties
• A passion for their work or ambitions
• Commitment to their ongoing personal career development
• Positive, inspirational relationships
• A great story about their journey to date
• A clear commitment to their community

When we spoke, Laurence had this to say about his achievement:
