A Pet Food Innovation – Introducing Scrumbles

At StartUp Croydon, we like to pride ourselves on the support and advice that we offer to start-ups and small businesses. Mostly we offer exemplary training, business days and events, but every now and again we come across a truly unique brand that deserves a little marketing boost for not just their product but also their ethos and values.
Aneisha and Jack Walker from Croydon have just launched a range of natural dog and cat food designed to be naturally hypoallergenic and great for pets with sensitive stomachs.
Pet allergies are on the increase with a range of symptoms such as gastrointestinal problems, ear infections, itchy skin and fatty tumours. Many of the most well-known varieties of dog and cat food have a high pea protein content and this is not a digestible substance for our furry friends. And there are bad meats and fish that contain non-descript reconstituted chicken, tuna and salmon.
Scrumbles is a gluten free range of products that have been carefully put together to give pets a nutritious diet without any of the usual nasties.

British, ethical, family owned
“We are Scrumbles, a conscientious start up on a mission to drive happy lives for cats and dogs.
As doting pet parents we’ve always wanted what’s best for our Smudge and Boo. But having seen the pet food market from the inside out we were unhappy with the choices available. Unable to find yummy, good food that didn’t cost the Earth, we set out to create our own.
We’ve taken care to ensure our food is both nutritious and delicious. Each of our recipes are carefully tailored for species, breed size and life stage and crammed with up to 75% chicken. Using a blend of freshly prepared and dried chicken, ensures high levels of animal protein (the best kind!) and delivers an irresistible taste. We avoid nonsense like artificial preservatives, colours or flavours and unnecessary nasties like salt, sugar and pea protein. Catering to sensitive tummies, our food is gluten free, has added probiotics and is naturally hypoallergenic.
We’re serious about nutrition but determined to have fun along the way. We also believe in the power of business to drive positive change in the world and are committed to supporting the communities and environment around us, guaranteeing adventures for future families.
In addition, 10% of annual profits are committed to supporting good causes that protect our furriends & the world around us. We work in partnership with DOTs and Born Free helping provide food and essentials for dogs on the streets in the UK and working to keep wildlife in the wild”
