You may recall that earlier in the year we featured a local business who had just started production of a new innovation in dog food, designed to be naturally hypoallergenic and great for pets with sensitive stomachs.

We are delighted to report the latest developments for Scrumbles and wish them every success in 2019

LET’S GET READY TO SCRUMBLE:

NATURAL PET FOOD BRAND SECURES £150,000 INVESTMENT

  • Healthy, ethical dog and cat food brand secures investment to reach more shoppers and build its product offeringScrumbles logo
  • Scrumbles offer natural, gut friendly pet food tailored to cats and dogs
  • Their products are already being sold in a number of independent pet stores, Ocado, Fetch.co.uk and Amazon, with plans to expand nationwide next year

Scrumbles, one of the UK’s fastest-growing natural, healthy dog and cat food brands has raised more than £150,000 in equity funding through the SEIS scheme, paving the way for them to make serious waves in the ever-growing online and offline UK pet food markets.

Founded by husband and wife team Jack Walker and Aneisha Soobroyen, Scrumbles’ range of dog and cat food is already stocked in Ocado and Fetch.co.uk. The investment will help them to develop their brand and its distribution in independent and mainstream retailers.

Jack said: “We’re chuffed to bits about securing this investment that gives us the ammunition we need to get the Scrumbles name out there. We know we have an incredible product and now we have the means to get it to passionate pet parents across the country. The funds also allow us to continue to expand our product offering in line with the ambitious social and environmental targets we’ve set ourselves.”

Scrumbles was founded to fill the gap in the market for a high quality, ethical pet food at an accessible price point. All Scrumbles products were developed in conjunction with leading pet nutritionists. Each recipe is high in animal protein, hypoallergenic and free from nasties like sugar, salt, and artificial flavours, colours or preservatives. In addition, to promote gut health, which the pair say is often overlooked in pet food, they include a probiotic.

Aneisha said: “We’re cat and dog lovers, so when we were buying food for our own pets (Boo and Smudge), we were getting pretty angry at how unhealthy, expensive or just plain bad a lot of the pet food on the shelves was. Scrumbles is our way of helping pet owners like us ensure that their furry friends can enjoy delicious, natural meals that keep them healthy and happy, inside and out (literally). This investment will help us amplify our brand and mission to cat and dog parents up and down the UK.”

You can find out more about Scrumbles and view their full range of products on their brand new website (www.scrumbles.co.uk). All recipes are made with natural, quality ingredients right here in the UK and the company has a commitment to give 10% of its annual profits to organisations and projects which support the health and wellbeing of cats and dogs in the UK.
